Competencies (2 & 3)
2.1 Engage priority populations, partners, and stakeholders for participation in the planning process.
2.1.1 Convene priority populations, partners, and stakeholders.
2.1.2 Facilitate collaborative efforts among priority populations, partners, and stakeholders.
This week, I shared the outline of Volume 1 with Sarah so that we could collaborate on the document (2.1.1). I asked if she could read over the document, make edits, and report to me what could be changed or done better for the next volume (2.1.2). Doing this allows me to understand what can be changed, kept the same, or added for the next two volumes so that making these outlines will be more efficient.
3.3 Monitor implementation.
3.3.1 Monitor progress in accordance with the timeline.
3.3.2 Assess progress in achieving objectives.
3.3.3 Modify interventions as needed to meet individual needs.
This week at the CARE Center, Sarah helped to edit and revise Volume 1 to ensure that information was accurate and correctly worded to CARE Center standards (3.3.1). I used these edits and changes to assess how Volume 2 and 3 should be created as well as incorporating these changes where they were needed (3.3.2 and 3.3.3).
Reflection: What, So What, What Now?
This week at the CARE Center, I was able to understand exactly what Sarah was looking for in the care guides. While we have previously discussed information, resources, and ideas for the guide, her edits to my outline were a great way to see exactly what she had envisioned, and I can incorporate this into the next two volumes. With this, I can better understand the CARE Center wording, literacy, and level of understanding that should be shared with caregivers. I appreciated her attention to details in the first guide and will be sure this is carried throughout the other guides. Since I have the basics of each volume outlined, I can now spend more time on the fine details to language and messaging.
