Thursday (2/5)

Today at the CARE Center, I spent time with Sarah discussing important information to include in each chapter within each book. We shared ideas and thoughts about the structure of the chapters. After this, I spent the day making an outline of the first book, adding headings and information for each chapter of the book. Today we were less worried about design or format, and instead worried about the information under each heading. I finished this up right as it was time for the support group meeting with the dementia caregivers. Today’s meeting was filled with hardships, struggles, but also lots of laughter and smiles. Even hearing caregiver stories after a few minutes of knowing them makes me feel so connected with the group as we all have experienced or are experiencing similar things. I am glad that the CARE Center provides caregivers a moment to share their feelings about being a caregiver while their loved one can be supervised at music therapy. I also learned more about the research study that Dr. Correia is conducting with carpet design and walkability between impaired and normal cognitive participants. I plan to work more on the outline for the first book tomorrow and hopefully begin the second book or begin designs.
